We are the Empoyer
EDB Postres - On site at Radford, Virginia
- Design, install, configure, administer, upgrade, and tune EDB Postgres databases in a UNIX / Oracle Enterprise Linux environment on virtual servers.
- Support additional database platforms, including MySQL and Oracle, as needed.
- Perform backup and recovery operations using Barman (Backup and Recovery Manager).
- Utilize Postgres Enterprise Manager for monitoring and management.
- Migrate Oracle databases to EDB Postgres using Ora2pg.
- Implement and maintain DoD and commercial certificate-based authentication for database logins.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and operating system issues to ensure high availability and performance.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts in PL/pgSQL and bash for automation and administration tasks.
- Document processes, configurations, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation to provide timely response to critical incidents.
- Collaborate with system administrators, application teams, and Army stakeholders to ensure database solutions meet mission requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years above mentioned Tasks/Duties, EDB Postgres 14.19, including design, install, configure, upgrades, tuning, backup / recovery, and troubleshooting, and performance tuning for transactional and analytical workloads, MySQL and Oracle database administration, DoD and commercial certificates for authentication, PEM, Ora2pg for Oracle to Postgres migrations,
- Barman, PL/pgSQL, Bash, on/in DoD enterprise systems environment.
- REQUIRED EDUCATION: BS/BA STEM Degree or Related Fields
- REQUIRED CERTIFICATION(s): CompTIA Security+ and EDB Postgres Database.
- REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Secret.
