As a PostgreSQL Database Analyst at INflow Federal, you will help design, administer, and modernize enterprise database environments supporting critical Intelligence Community missions. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the performance, availability, integrity, and security of mission-essential PostgreSQL databases while supporting modernization initiatives, cloud migration efforts, and enterprise infrastructure improvements.
Working alongside database administrators, software developers, systems engineers, and infrastructure teams, you’ll optimize database performance, implement high-availability solutions, support migration projects, and help maintain secure, scalable database environments that directly support national security operations.

You’ll support enterprise PostgreSQL database environments responsible for processing mission-critical data across secure government systems. Your work will include database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery planning, high-availability implementation, database migrations, security administration, and collaboration with development teams to optimize application performance.
You’ll also contribute to modernization initiatives involving PostgreSQL, Oracle, and cloud-ready database architectures while supporting highly available enterprise infrastructure.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain enterprise PostgreSQL database environments supporting classified mission systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available PostgreSQL database solutions.
- Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance while proactively identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Configure and maintain role-based access control (RBAC), database security, and administrative accounts.
- Develop and maintain database configuration standards, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with software developers to optimize database schemas, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and SQL query performance.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
- Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
- Support database migration efforts involving PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL platforms.
- Analyze transactional and data warehouse workloads to improve scalability and performance.
- Evaluate emerging database technologies, open-source tools, and commercial solutions supporting enterprise modernization.
- Implement database monitoring, alerting, and performance reporting solutions.
- Troubleshoot database availability, replication, storage, and performance issues.
- Ensure database environments comply with security policies, operational standards, and customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams regarding database architecture and best practices.
- Participate in after-hours on-call support rotations as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
- 5+ years of database administration, database engineering, or database analysis experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience administering PostgreSQL database environments.
- Experience implementing PostgreSQL performance tuning and optimization strategies.
- Experience designing or supporting high-availability PostgreSQL environments.
- Experience performing database backup, restoration, replication, migration, and disaster recovery activities.
- Experience configuring PostgreSQL monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis tools.
- Knowledge of transactional database design and data warehouse architectures.
- Experience working with SQL and relational database concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, infrastructure, and software development teams.
