Position Summary:

The Portfolio Strategy Analyst will contribute to projects, portions of projects or initiatives to support the shaping, developing, enabling execution of strategies that will advance and purposefully grow the Cell Line Development, Analytical, and Process Development (CAPS) business with focus on different ‘verticals’ as needed (e.g. improving existing development platforms, analyzing innovator trends, guiding research and development projects, assessing competitor strategies, collaborating internally to increase KBI’s public footprint). This role will emphasize (1) compiling and tracking information for key decision makers within the CAPS organization, (2) managing tasks within and outside of the CAPS organization, and (3) organizing meetings, maintaining documentation, taking minutes, tracking decisions, and ensuring completion of associated tasks.  These efforts will support the technology and innovation team’s initiatives to build internal expertise; to establish sustainable, predictable and consistent processes to eliminate waste, increase efficiency, and accelerate new technologies. Additionally, this role supports driving corporate sustainability objectives and community outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and tracks the current state of CAPS service offerings, track against the CAPS 3-year service offering plan, and compile key performance indicators across CAPS functions as determined by management. (20%)

  • Tracks execution of tasks with CAPS internal partners such as alliance strategy, business development, and marketing to ensure CAPS innovation growth strategy aligns with KBI goals and objectives. Ensures that all tasks are completed on time and in full by providing support and task management to CAPS leadership.  (20%)

  • Contributes to key scientific communication documents in support of CAPS leadership and marketing.  (20%)

  • Tracks and maintains critical documentation in support of business verticals as determined by management.  (15%)

  • Organizes meetings, maintains accurate and thorough minutes by tracking key discussion points and decisions, and tracks resulting action items to completion. (10%)

  • Reacts to change productively and handles other tasks as assigned. (10%)

  • Tracks innovation ideation across the CAPS network. (5%)

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, science communication or related discipline

  • Demonstrate strong scientific communication skills such as:

    • Rapidly understanding novel technical concepts

    • Synthesizing large amounts of technical information

    • Producing technical content for a wide array of audiences

    • Taking individual initiative to supplement knowledge base where necessary

  • Extremely strong task, data, and documentation organization skills

  • Ability to:

    • Develop familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and SOP driven environments

    • Develop familiarity with competitor strategies, particularly with respect to communication and public scientific presence

    • Develop familiarity with drug development process at KBI and competitors

    • Influence key stakeholders without direct authority, including department, commercial, and research leaders. This is critical to task management and data compilation and tracking
