Overview of Role

The Portfolio Management team is responsible for implementing investment strategies and managing discretionary client portfolios in line with clients’ investment objectives, risk profiles, and the bank’s investment views. The team works closely with Client Adviser, Investment Specialists, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality portfolio management solutions and investment-related support to our clients. To support the team, we are offering a 9–12-month internship for a motivated candidate seeking practical experience and exposure to portfolio management in a leading private banking environment.

The successful candidate will join the Portfolio Management team within our Wealth Management division, with a preferred start date of 1 September 2026. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in portfolio management within an international private banking environment. The intern will support the team in portfolio monitoring, investment proposal preparation, portfolio reporting, and market-related analyses, while developing a strong understanding of investment processes, asset allocation, and financial markets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of investment strategies across client portfolios
  • Assist in the monitoring of discretionary portfolios and investment guidelines
  • Support portfolio reviews, rebalancing activities, and portfolio management processes
  • Prepare standard investment proposals and client presentation materials
  • Assist in the preparation of portfolio reports and investment-related documentation
  • Support coordination and information sharing between Portfolio Management, the Investment Department, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct market and portfolio analyses to support investment activities
  • Assist with administrative and ad hoc tasks related to portfolio management

Experience, Skills and Competencies Required

  • High school diploma with a banking apprenticeship or a university degree
  • Strong interest in financial markets, investments, and wealth management
  • Very good understanding of financial instruments and all asset classes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA and Avaloq knowledge is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proactive and flexible mindset with a strong commitment to excellence and high-quality standards
  • Team player and willingness to learn
