Job Summary:
- Perform all age specific polysomnography testing as required by department policy, protocols, and per AASM guidelines.
- Assume responsibility for the scoring of the studies with a 90% AASM Gold Standard QA program performed quarterly per AASM guidelines.
- Assist with supervision and performance of sleep disorders center maintaining productivity above 100% YTD.
- Perform polysomnography test including electrode set up, equipment, preparing patients for tests being performed.
- Recognize and eliminate causes of artifact data to ensure accurate results; provide necessary medical attention.
- Perform calibration checks of diagnostic apparatus for tests; inspect/assure proper maintenance of equipment.
- Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
Education:
Completion of one year of college level training in sleep or EEG technology or two years' education in related allied health field preferred. CPR certification. Registered in field of polysomnography.
Experience:
Requires experience in the sleep field or another medical department within a patient care area of a hospital (EEG, RT, LPN). Must frequently use judgment in performing tests, observing patients, assisting in interpreting test results and communicating with patients, physicians, other departments and staff members. Analytical skills are necessary.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
CPR certification, computer skills of high quality to be able to perform and document patient data for testing results.
