WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
The Political Team Leader role is a sales support role on the sales operations team. Each Political Team is headed by an Account Executive (AE) with a Team Leader (TL) as their primary support. The TL serves as an apprentice AE in assisting with sales planning, schedule building, market coverage research, buyer interaction and account management. During the political cycle TLs have a team of Sales Coordinators (SCs) working under them. The TL job includes managing SC workload, assisting in SC training, and interacting with the National Sales Managers at different cable providers across the United States to ensure orders are stewarded to completion with maximized fulfillment.
HOW YOU'LL BE CONTRIBUTING:

  • Responsible for accurately entering and transmitting spot cable media schedules and revisions for political campaigns and issue groups, including federal, state, and local elections under daily deadlines
  • Work with assigned political sales team to complete daily tasks including data entry of rates for ad buys and order confirmations.
  • Provide superior customer service to clients comprised of the top media agencies representing political advertisers on all sides.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with cable, satellite, telco, and online affiliates to ensure ad buys are airing according to geographic and demographic targeting.
  • Produce reports to Account Executives to assist with ad buy proposals for geographic and demographic targeting of specific voters.
  • During political 'on years,' lead a team of Sales Coordinators, assisting with training, workload management and mentorship


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Accuracy in numerical data entry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to solve problems
  • Adaptability when managing workload and flexibility when working with others
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines


DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Previous experience working in a professional office setting
  • Basic understanding of TV ratings and ad pricing
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Experience in and comfort with deadline-driven, fast pace work environments
