Location: 210 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9JY

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: 6-9 months

Internship Programme;

During this programme, we'll help you develop your practical and behavioural skills and support you in gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for you to take the next step and succeed in your career.

What you'll be doing;

  • Monitor new and existing government policies to identify risks and opportunities for Veolia

  • Support Senior Policy Managers in the development of detailed briefings to senior staff members which advises them on impact and actions to take to manage policy change

  • Track the external political environment to ensure new and changing policy is identified from key stakeholders across energy, water and waste

  • Help to build succinct stakeholder maps and ensure existing maps are updated using the appropriate tools

  • Work with key internal stakeholders to review political and regulatory issues that may require lobbying strategies from Senior Policy Managers

  • Share policy developments with Senior Policy Managers that may be insightful for customers

  • Contribute to the organisation of key events delivered to showcase Veolia's policy expertise and customer offers

  • Monitor communications relevant to Veolia's GreenUp Strategy from key stakeholders, trade associations and customers to identify opportunities for Senior Policy Managers to engage

  • Support the ongoing management of subscriptions/memberships, highlighting opportunities to Senior Managers

  • Contribute to the drafting and preparation of impactful Veolia responses to key consultations

  • Work with key internal departments and the wider corporate affairs colleagues to deliver the objectives of the Policy and Stakeholder Engagement Team and the wider business

What we're looking for;

  • This would be an ideal opportunity for a current student or someone who is looking for a placement in a degree in a related area. 

  • Has an interest in a policy area relevant to Veolia (Waste, Water, Energy)

  • Good communication skills, an analytical mindset and attention to detail

  • Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills

  • Willingness to travel
