Job Summary:
This position provides direct staffing support at The Point program, focusing on youth engagement, data tracking, and program development. The Point Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Director of Shelter and Housing, as well as the Point Director, to develop processes that support the SKIL team in assisting youth transitioning from shelter care to stable housing. This role requires availability Sunday-Thursday 12Pm-8PM The Point Coordinator must exemplify the core values of Pivot, including connection first, relentless compassion, and a commitment to never settle.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Foster a healthy, proactive team environment based on mutual respect and accountability.

  • Ensure services are supported by research-based practices.

  • Train new staff members as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Point Director on employee reviews.

Program Oversight:

  • Assist with record reviews and internal audits, including collection of documentation deficiencies.

  • Participate in treatment team meetings with the Point Director as needed.

  • Attend training and conferences to enhance case management skills.

  • Maintain frequent communication with site/team regarding updates or program changes.

  • Provide one-on-one orientation to residents, train on daily living skills, host life skills events, identify areas of need, and offer solutions.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for communication with the Point Director.

Program Development:

  • Work with the Point team to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Provide support through the planning and coordination of services for individual clients.

  • Must be trained in HMIS/PASIS.

  • Advocate for individual clients.

  • Maintain confidentiality of client records and information.

  • Monitor, educate, and assist clients in developing the skills needed to meet their educational, recreational, vocational, treatment, and program goals.

  • Drive clients to and/or accompany them to scheduled appointments as needed.

  • Provide monitoring and support in developing appropriate services for individual clients.

  • Attend staff meetings and external meetings as needed.

  • Maintain positive, professional relationships within the community as a representative of the agency.

  • Perform other duties as required by the agency.

  • Follow all policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth by the Director.

  • Collaborate with other program staff to meet client needs.

Qualifications

Applicant Must:

  • Be 21 years of age, pass a national fingerprint criminal background investigation, and not be listed in any registry of sexual offenders.

  • Pass a drug screening.

  • Adhere to ALL Pivot and program policies and procedures.

  • Provide an acceptable physical/medical examination and a doctor’s verification.

  • Demonstrate compliance with confidentiality/privacy standards required by agency and law.

  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance.

  • Be compassionate, respectful, and tolerant of a wide variety of identities and personalities.

Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth, with leadership experience preferred.

  • Nonprofit or equivalent experience is desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work to maximize team performance and meet customer expectations.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work with attention to detail.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain collaborative work relationships within the organization and with external stakeholders.

  • Refined critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to establish and adjust to current and emerging priorities and negotiate multiple complex activities.

Other:

  • Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

  • Possess a valid Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance verification.

Training:

  • Within 90 days: Attend New Employee Orientation, become CPR/First Aid Certified, and complete Managing Aggressive Behaviors (MAB) certification.

  • Complete understanding of all agency programs and services and any training as deemed appropriate by supervisor(s).

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements:

  • Includes bending, carrying, lifting, hand and finger dexterity, kneeling, vision, hearing.

  • Depending on the work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations and the ability to lift light to medium weights (up to 20 pounds).

  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information.

  • Overall mobility is essential, including sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

Work Conditions:

  • Work is performed indoors with moderate exposure to safety and health hazards related to exposure to infections, communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals (e.g., alcohol, bleach).

  • No potential for bodily injury related to lifting or incidents of workplace violence.

  • Must follow universal safety precautions.

Security:

  • Adheres to the agency's confidentiality policies and procedures, including HIPAA, Privacy, Corporate Compliance, Code of Ethics, and Conflict of Interest policies.
