POI Data Specialist – Data Entry, Research & GIS

Key Responsibilities :

• - Collect, verify, and maintain accurate POI datasets using GIS tools and resources.
• - Conduct online and field-based research to enrich and validate POI information.
• - Use basic GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, JOSM, etc.) to visualize, validate, and analyze spatial data.
• - Perform high-quality data entry and categorization of POIs (name, category, location, etc.).
• - Collaborate with team members to ensure data consistency and quality.
• - Contribute to the development and improvement of internal workflows, especially in open-source environments.
• - Identify data issues and propose/implement corrections.
• - Stay updated on GIS and POI-related trends and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• - At least 1 year of experience in GIS work, research, or structured data entry.
• - Strong internet research skills and ability to extract relevant information from various online sources.
• - Previous experience working with POI data and adding Points of Interest on digital maps.
• - Knowledge of GIS platforms like QGIS, ArcGIS, JOSM, or Google Earth.
• - Strong online research skills.
• - High accuracy and attention to detail.
• - Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets.
• - Good Arabic and English communication skills.
• - Familiarity with Saudi and regional geography.

Preferred Qualifications :

• - Prior experience with POI data or map platforms.
• - Passion for location-based data and mapping.
• - Educational background in GIS, Geography, Urban Studies, or IT.
• - Understanding of address and navigation systems in KSA.
