About the Role
We are seeking a sharp, creative Freelance Tech Writer to produce feature stories and feed content. In this role, you will focus exclusively on feature-driven editorial including deep dives, industry analysis, opinion pieces, and feature stories across consumer devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, Smart TVs), A/V gear, physical media (4K Blu-ray, vinyl), and apps.
Working closely with our editorial team, you will pitch and write thought-provoking content that explores tech trends, examines hardware ecosystems, and offers fresh perspectives on everyday consumer technology.
Your Responsibilities
- Write high-quality feed articles and feature stories covering consumer tech, hardware, apps, and entertainment setups.
- Focus coverage on core categories: smartphones, tablets, laptops, Smart TVs, A/V gear, physical media, and apps.
- Pitch original, practical feature concepts, opinion pieces, and device roundups regularly.
- Turn around clean, engaging content quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Upload drafts directly into our custom CMS, format images, and follow house style guidelines.
- Work directly with editors on assignments, pitch feedback, and content strategy.

Experience and Skills
- Proven experience writing tech features, consumer guides, or hardware content in English.
- Strong familiarity with smartphones, laptops, Smart TVs, A/V hardware, physical media formats, and major app ecosystems.
- Ability to break down specs and tech trends into clear, engaging, human-sounding advice for everyday readers.
- Basic understanding of SEO practices and comfort working within a digital CMS platform.
- A self-starter attitude with a drive to pitch relevant, timely feature topics independently.
- Strict adherence to Valnet’s Editorial Standards, including a zero-tolerance policy for Artificial Intelligence (AI) writing tools.
