About the role

We are looking to hire an experienced PL/SQL and Oracle Apex Developer who will leverage their expertise in SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Apex, and Unix Shell (Perl or Python) programming languages to develop, optimize, and maintain complex database solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with application developers, ensure data integrity and security, and contribute to performance tuning and troubleshooting efforts. You will work in an Agile environment, utilizing your knowledge of modern RDBMS products, DevOps practices, and software methodologies to deliver high-quality and scalable solutions. 

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain PL/SQL code for database applications as well as applications developed using Oracle Apex 

• Optimize and tune PL/SQL code for performance improvements 

• Build and maintain performant and secure Oracle Apex applications  

• Collaborate with application developers to design and implement database solutions 

• Create and maintain documentation for database processes and procedures 

• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues 

• Ensure data integrity and security 

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback 

• Work in an Agile environment, following Scrum and SDLC methodologies 

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience working with Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle Apex 

• Excellent working knowledge and experience of SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Apex and Unix Shell (Perl or Python) programming languages 

• Extensive proficiency in modern RDBMS products, particularly Oracle (latest version)

• PostgreSQL is a major plus and familiarity with MySQL is required

• Experience developing web applications using Oracle APEX, including creating and managing Interactive Reports, Forms, and Dashboards

• Skill in using Oracle APEX's data visualization tools 

• Knowledge of Oracle APEX security features, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption

• Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization of Oracle APEX applications to ensure efficient and scalable solutions

• Experience developing complex database objects like Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL 

• Proficiency in using Standard Oracle Packages (e.g., UTL_FILE), Dynamic SQL, Records, Arrays, PL/SQL tables, and File handling 

• Knowledge in SQL and PL/SQL Performance Tuning, query rewriting, and using Explain Plan and Hints 

• Expertise in Collections, Exception Handling, Partitioning techniques, BULK features, Analytics functions, and External tables 

• Solid experience and comfort with UNIX/Linux platforms and sufficient commands 

A significant advantage would be

• Experience with the Informatica Platform, along with a strong understanding of best practices for Informatica PowerCenter, Data Transformation, and Informatica B2B Data Exchange products 

• ETL and data modeling knowledge and experience, proficient in creating mappings, workflows, and implementing ETL concepts 

• Agile working experience with Scrum and SDLC methodologies and best practices

• Experience with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket 

• Thorough working experience with DevOps, UC4, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD 

• Proficiency utilizing object-oriented analysis and design principles 

• In-depth knowledge of software methodologies, distributed networking, databases, communications, and multiprocessing applications 

• Good knowledge of recent programming languages and frameworks (such as Java, Angular or React, XML, JSON)
