LightPath Technologies, Inc. is a leading global provider of precision optics and photonics solutions, serving defense, aerospace, medical, and industrial markets. With decades of expertise and a strong culture of innovation, LightPath designs and manufactures advanced optical components and systems that power some of the world’s most demanding applications. We offer a collaborative, technology-driven environment, opportunities to work on cutting-edge programs, and a comprehensive benefits package that supports our employees’ health, growth, and work-life balance.
As we scale and integrate new capabilities, we’re building out the digital backbone that ties our engineering, quality, and operations data together, and we’re looking for the person who will own it.
As our PLM Administrator, you’ll be the go-to expert for our Product Lifecycle Management system including the part data, EBOMs and change workflows. You won’t be writing the integration code. Our IT team and specialist partners handle the heavy build. You will define how the system works, set the standards, and make sure what gets delivered is right.
What You’ll Do
- Own the configuration, standards, and data model for our PLM system, including the part master, EBOM, document types, lifecycle states, and change workflows.
- Write the requirements and acceptance criteria for integrations and data migrations, then direct and validate the work our IT team and partners deliver.
- Be the first point of contact for every PLM user across Engineering, Quality, Operations, and our supply base.
- Keep the system audit-ready by enforcing the access controls, markings, and audit trails our compliance team defines, and produce the evidence needed for assessments.
- Build the dashboards and KPIs that show how our engineering processes are really performing.
- Find the friction in our workflows and make them better.
What we’re looking for:
- 3 to 6 years administering a PLM system. You know your way around data schemas, workflows, lifecycle states, and permissions.
- A strong grip on BOM management, revision control, part numbering, and change management.
- The ability to turn a business need into clear technical requirements, and to tell whether a delivered build actually meets them.
- Someone who communicates clearly, documents well, and enjoys being the person others come to for answers.
Bonus points for:
- Aras Innovator experience.
- Time spent in AS9100, CMMC Level 2, or ITAR-regulated manufacturing.
- Familiarity with optics or precision-assembly manufacturing, such as molding, metrology, coatings, and assembly BOMs.
Why LightPath
You’ll work on hard, real problems at a company whose optics heritage runs back to Corning’s precision molded optics business. This role carries real ownership. You’ll shape how an entire engineering organization manages its data, and you’ll see the impact of that work every day.
Ready to own it? Apply today.
Skills Required

- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for optics and precision assemblies (optics, opto-mechanical, coatings, metrology data)
- Experience with CMMC Level 2 or ITAR-compliant system administration
- Experience configuring PLM data schemas, workflows, lifecycle states, permissions, and integrations
- Strong understanding of BOM management, revision control, part numbering, and change management
- Strong documentation and user training ability
- Experience with Aras Innovator configuration (methods, forms, workflows)
- Experience in AS9100-regulated, multi-site manufacturing
- Scripting ability in SQL, JavaScript, or Python for light automation
- Experience supporting cloud environments, especially Azure
- Experience supporting supplier portals and secure external collaboration
What We Do
Committed to delivering the highest quality, most reliable optical components and assemblies to its customers.
