Position Overview

As a Manual QA Engineer at TruU, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable, and user-friendly security products. You will play a critical role in validating web application workflows (60%) and ensure that configurations on the web platform are correctly reflected in our native Windows/macOS client apps (40%). You will contribute both strategically and technically by designing test plans, analyzing defects, and working closely with developers, product managers, and designers to ensure the best-in-class user experience.  

We’re looking for a QA engineer mainly: 

Go-getters who ramp up quickly with on-the-job training and operate effectively in a fast-paced TruU environment. 

Demonstrate a proactive mindset in identifying bugs, especially critical edge cases seen in customer environments.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and execute manual test cases for our cloud‑managed authentication workflows in the web admin/user console.
  
• Validate end‑to‑end scenarios, ensuring configurations in the web application reflect correctly in Windows or macOS native clients.
  
• Perform security‑minded exploratory testing, identifying edge cases early.
  
• Execute API testing (using Postman/Insomnia) and analyze network behaviors with Proxy and browser developer tools.
  
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
  
• Debug issues by analyzing logs, system behaviors, and cross‑platform interactions.
  
• Actively participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and release planning as a QA representative.
  
• Maintain detailed test documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

Qualifications: 

• 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, particularly with cross-platform desktop applications.
• Hands-on testing experience on Windows and/or macOS, with exposure to web applications.
• Strong debugging, log analysis, and system-level troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, distributed team, and startup-like environment.
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Zephyr, Jira, Proxy), and Agile methodologies (Scrum).

Nice to Have:

• Background in identity, authentication, endpoint security, or AI/ML-based systems.
