Job Title: Platform Engineer
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
Business & Team: CTO- SNS
Impact &contribution: The network team in CBA Technology is responsible for world-leading network technology and operations across CommBank supporting our workforce across Australia and international locations. Our team is collaborative, supportive, and keen to share knowledge. We emphasise open communication, quality work and a culture of excellence.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Manage escalation of technical issues from suppliers, operations and application teams
- Author implementation plans and configuration of network security changes into CBA’s network services and devices and execution of changes outside of regular business hours
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation.
- Contribute to the documenting of current infrastructure services.
- Actively contribute to improvements in our processes and procedures
- Work with project teams to understand network connectivity.
- Ensure all services within the IT service portfolio are managed with consideration to network, capacity, platform, sociability/scalability factors and target architecture
Essential skills:
- General networking experience: 4+ years, experience with troubleshooting networking issues in production
- Understanding of application flow in terms of networking
- Load balancing basics

Good operational understanding of DNS.

Understanding of Networks, Layer 2-4 protocols, DNS, IPAM, Application Design, Proxies, Infoblox etc.
- DNS/DHCP/IPAM experience- preferred
- AWS/Azure experience - fundamental services - knowledge required, experience preferred
- Network automation - any scripting language (Python or bash preferred), Terraform/Ansible experience preferred
- CICD - basic understanding, experience preferred
- Git - experience working with shared codebase
- Linux - basic CLI skills, OS configuration
- Enterprise experience- preferred
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
