Platform Engineer Murex DevSecOps (AWS, Murex, Python, UNIX Scripting)

Software Requirements:

Overall Responsibilities:

• Participate as a member of the systems development team with minimal supervision and occasional guidance.
• Contribute to the development of estimation, design, installation, configuration, integration, and productionizing of information technology system components.
• Ensure rapid, automated, and safe deployment of technical solutions and streamline the processes.
• Participate in the assimilation of platforms into their ecosystems, concentrating on all aspects of the stack including hardware and networking, data handling, and the flow through to the application and its integration points.
• Focus on non-functional requirements such as security, reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability, and usability.
• Provide local technical support and assistance to non-technical members of the team.
• Take on support and technical troubleshooting responsibility for production systems.
• Contribute towards continuous improvements for the system and processes.
• Contribute to solution design discussions with the wider team.

Technical Skills:

Cloud and DevOps:

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer/Solution Architect with relevant working experience with CI/CD tools like Git, GitHub Actions, Ansible, AWS (including CDK).
• Experience in AWS Cloud, including AWS stack deployment, AWS AMI patching, and stack configuration.
• Experience with cloud formation, networking, and ensuring cloud cost optimization.

Murex:

• 4 to 8 years of experience in Murex environment/support.
• Experience in handling Murex environment-specific issues and EOD execution.

Scripting and Automation:

• Proficiency in UNIX Scripting and Python.
• Experience with automation/job scheduling tools such as Autosys and GitHub Action.
• Advanced troubleshooting experience with Shell scripting and Python.

Database:

• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix server and Oracle RDS.

Monitoring Tools:

• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, Obstack, PagerDuty.

Web Development:

• Knowledgeable in web development.

Experience:

• 4 to 8 years of experience in Murex.
• Experience in AWS Cloud.
• Experience in release and CI/CD processes.
• Working experience with automation/job scheduling tools.
• Experience with monitoring tools and cloud technologies on AWS.

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Oversee MES ASRE activity and maintain Murex environment provisioning website.
• Carry out enhancements to maintenance/housekeeping scripts and monitor the DB growth periodically.
• Handle cloud environment preparation, refresh, rebuild, upkeep, maintenance, and upgrade activities.
• Ensure cloud cost optimization.
• Troubleshoot Murex environment-specific issues, including infrastructure-related issues, and update pipelines for a permanent fix.
• Handle EOD execution and troubleshooting of issues.
• Participate in release activities and coordinate with QA/Release teams.
• Participate in AWS stack deployment, AWS AMI patching, and stack configuration for optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
• Address ad hoc requests like warehouse rebuild, maintenance, health/sanity checks, creating XVA engine, environment restores, and backup in AWS as per project needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or master's degree in engineering.
