Purpose and Scope:
As a Front-End Developer (FED) Platform Engineer in Adobe Platforms chapter, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our digital initiatives within our agile organization by designing and delivering innovative, enterprise-grade external facing websites/ portals on enterprise platforms. This role exists to focus on modern web development practices to design, develop and maintain responsive, accessible and high performing websites built on enterprise platforms enabling seamless content delivery and engagement of HCPs and Patients to Astellas owned web properties collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders both internal and external driving business value through technical expertise and stakeholder engagement aligned to enterprise capabilities. Our agile operating model—comprising Digital Capability for skill growth and Digital Execution for mission-aligned collaboration—uniquely positions you to balance cutting-edge solution delivery with the development of specialized expertise, while expertise in other enterprise platforms is welcomed as an advantageous complement.

In this role, you will lead design framework UI, design and maintain web applications based on design standard, with a deep understanding of Frontend framework technologies, backend, Analytics to elevate customer experience. You will work directly with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable Front-End solutions, multitask across projects and stay ahead of technological advancements, making this position critical for transformative digital impact for the enterprise.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Build, enhance, and maintain web UI components using js (functional components, hooks, context, component composition).
• Develop responsive and cross-browser web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
• Implement UI designs with high fidelity using design systems and Figma specs.
• Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs and/or GraphQL
• Maintain clean, reusable, scalable code with strong conventions and documentation.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and version control: Git, PR reviews, branching strategies.
• Collaborate with backend teams on API contracts, error handling patterns, and security considerations.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG,) and general usability guidelines.
• Participate in agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, estimation, and demos.
• Translate user stories into technical designs which includes enterprise-level architecture and implementing strategies.
• Experience in software design, development, and implementation using standard CMS platforms.
• Collaborate with Business Analyst, Platform Engineers, Scrum lead, Value Team captain to execute implementations and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional digital experiences, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and usability.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor web site performance using Lighthouse or similar tools.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure web solutions are secure and compliant with enterprise standards, including web governance and necessary documentation.
• Data Reporting: Work with reporting team (generating insights from Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics) to derive meaningful insights.
• Continuous Learning: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in a specific area of expertise.
• Innovation: Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.
• Reporting: Regularly report on system use to your Chapter Lead, VT captain, and team members.
• Problem-Solving: Employ analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome project challenges and deliver effective solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field, e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration.
• Strong hands-on experience on front end development experience 7+ years in React, Angular and Vue.Js
• Solid fundamentals in HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern styling techniques
• Proficiency in JavaScript and other tools
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs and leverage Python for scripting, data manipulation, and automation tasks.
• Assist in designing and implementing data flows between front-end applications and backend systems, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
• Experience consuming and integrating REST/GraphQL APIs
• Strong understanding of browser rendering, debugging, and performance optimization
• Experience in design thinking, User experience, global Accessibility standards and compliance requirements for web and other digital channel solutions
• Experience writing unit/integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library
• Review code of FED developers, develop POCs, and provide guidance.
• Hands on experience with responsive design principles to ensure optimal user experiences across various devices.
• Hands on experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG) to create inclusive digital experiences.
• Hands on experience to Optimize front-end code for better performance and faster page load times.
• Experience with build tools to streamline front-end workflows.
• Experience in developing strategies to design solution across different browsers and devices. Serve as an FED subject matter expert, diagnose and solve technical challenges related to user experience design on AEM.
• Experience with multiple front-end frameworks for FED development
• Understanding of integration with Analytics platforms and capturing web engagement data.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex business issues and develop appropriate technical solutions.
• Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of information technology, software development life cycles, and architectural frameworks. Familiarity with programming languages, databases, and software development tools is beneficial.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies, including Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and version control for release management activities
• Attention to Detail: Precision in documenting requirements, specifications, and project details to ensure clarity and alignment with objectives.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, technologies, and project priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on software as a medical device (SaMD) and/or Digital Health applications.
• Proven track record collaborating with data engineers and data scientists on AI-driven initiatives.
• Familiarity with Python libraries for data manipulation (e.g., Pandas) and backend development frameworks.
• Experience with UI/UX design principles and familiarity with design tools.
• Life Sciences / Pharma industry experience
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT) and secure UI patterns.
• Familiarity with observability tools (Sentry, Datadog, New Relic) for front-end monitoring.
