About the Role:

You will be part of the Converge Engineering team, reporting to the Head of Engineering.

We’re looking for a Platform Data Manager to lead the data strategy behind our next-generation cyber insurance underwriting and claims platform. This role sits at the crossroad of technology, data, and insurance — ensuring our data foundation drives smarter underwriting, faster claims, and stronger portfolio insights.

As the Platform Data Manager, you’ll shape how data flows across the ecosystem — integrating diverse sources from policy admin to cyber threat intelligence — while ensuring compliance, reliability, and performance at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end management of the data platform, from ingestion to modeling and analytics delivery.
  • Build robust integration pipelines connecting underwriting, claims, actuarial modeling, and external cyber data feeds.
  • Partner with engineering, risk, and operations teams to define data models that align with business needs.
  • Implement and oversee data governance, lineage, and compliance standards (GDPR, SOC2, insurance regulations).
  • Enable business intelligence, predictive modeling, and risk insights by maintaining reliable data marts and semantic layers
  • As we grow, manage and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering best practices in cloud-native and DevOps-oriented data delivery.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years in data engineering, platform management, or analytics leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data stacks (AWS preferred, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar).
  • Strong GraphQL, Python, Data Analysis and ETL pipeline development skills.
  • Proven background in data governance within regulated industries.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (engineering, underwriting, claims, actuarial).
  • Bonus: experience with cyber insurance, risk analytics, or external cyber data sources (CVE, threat intelligence).
Nice to Have
  • Experience with underwriting workbenches, PAS, quoting engines, or MGA/carrier systems.
  • Familiarity with producer workflows, bordereaux data and compliance filings.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay Range: $145,000 – $195,000 annually (commensurate with experience and location).
  • Total Compensation Context: This role may be eligible for annual performance bonuses and equity participation.
  • Benefits Overview: Converge provides comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision), a 401(k) plan with employer contribution, and flexible paid time off (PTO).
