Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
Engage directly with trainees to facilitate their skills development. The primary goal is to foster a competent and knowledgeable workforce that can contribute effectively to the business directives. Directs the development and implementation of programs to better develop and utilize employees and resources. The central role is enhancing employee competencies and performance. Participation in new hire training and observe their training and treatment as they onboard. This includes designing training courses, leading training sessions and assessing the impact. Major responsibilities include management assessment and development, translation of business mission, values, and strategies to develop and implement training and education to meet organizational needs. Consults with managers on motivational strategies, personal career development, and team development issues. Promotes and leads opportunities for cross-organizational learning and understanding of learning models. Designs and implements long-term position planning and management succession. Establishes networks for exploration and learning. Supervises organizational development specialists and training resources.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Participation in Employee onboarding training including touching base the first few weeks and coming back to those struggling or unsure of themselves.
  • Training within Industry Methodology in regard to both Job Instruction and Job Relations Training.
  • Direct the design, development and implementation of programs to better develop and utilize human resources and improve individual and organizational capability.
  • Direct the design, development and implementation of training and education programs for all Magna Newaygo operations. A major emphasis for training in support of the operations will include training focused on the necessary individual and team skills to promote continuous improvement efforts.
  • Direct the design, development, and implementation of organizational survey tools and programs to meet the following purposes:
    Measure the climate and culture of the organization.
    Provide teams with data to improve their team's effectiveness and development.
    Provide data for organization wide development and intervention.
  • Manage the training and organizational development staff to ensure that effective support is provided to the organization.
  • Establish networks with organizational development and training experts to bring new ideas into internal educational opportunities and programs for Magna Newaygo.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to work with internal and external contacts. Strong People Skills.
  • Strong Manufacturing background in Human Resources, Materials, Operations or Continuous Improvement with strong experience with training.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in support of company management systems and philosophies.
  • Must be strong with computers and Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
