We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Plant Manager to lead our abrasives manufacturing facility in Marysville, Washington
Position Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing operations at the Marysville facility to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and profitable production. This role builds and develops a high-performing team culture grounded in trust, accountability, continuous improvement, and strong leadership.
The Plant Manager oversees production, maintenance, quality, shipping/receiving, and overall site performance while driving operational excellence through SQDCG principles — Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth. The successful candidate will develop leaders, improve processes, optimize plant performance, and ensure customer requirements are consistently met. The pay range for this role is $145,000 - $195,000.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
  • Build, develop, and lead a strong team culture based on trust, accountability, collaboration, and respect.
  • Positively influence both individual and team performance through effective leadership, coaching, and communication.
  • Develop supervisors and future leaders through mentoring, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
  • Promote and maintain a 5S/foundation-first culture focused on organization, cleanliness, and workplace discipline.
Operations Management
  • Direct and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, and shipping/receiving.
  • Establish, monitor, and improve plant performance metrics related to safety, quality, productivity, delivery, cost, and growth.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations are properly staffed and resourced to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Drive efficiency improvements to maximize productivity, reduce waste, and improve profitability.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met on time, at the required quality standards, and within cost expectations.
  • Lead daily operations utilizing SQDCG priorities in the following order:
    1. Safety
    2. Quality
    3. Delivery
    4. Cost
    5. Growth
Financial & Business Management
  • Develop and manage operational budgets while maintaining performance within approved financial targets.
  • Manage site P&L responsibilities, including operational spending and cost control initiatives.
  • Develop and execute capital expenditure plans aligned with business objectives and site growth strategies.
  • Utilize KPIs and operational data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a strong safety-first culture with a focus on industry-leading safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe work practices and accountability at all organizational levels.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of plant management or manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience leading lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of KPIs, operational metrics, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated success achieving demanding operational and business goals.
  • Proven ability to develop employees, supervisors, and future leaders.
  • Previous P&L responsibility required.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Professional presence with the ability to represent the company effectively in internal and external settings.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment requiring frequent standing, stooping, bending, and walking.
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to 50% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Visual acuity (corrected if necessary) sufficient to read documents, computer screens, and production information.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily within a manufacturing facility environment and may require exposure to noise, moving machinery, temperature fluctuations, and production-related conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred
