Serves in a trainee capacity receiving orientation, instruction and fact finding fundamental to County planning work; and performs other related duties as required.Examples of Duties:

Receives orientation and training in the functions of public planning and pertinent research methods and techniques;
Under direct supervision, may assist in gathering land use information such as lot size, age of structure, tax valuation, infrastructure requirements concerning public utilities, street conditions, etc.;
Extracts and compiles, or verifies designated information from journals, reports, and other resource documents;
Assists in the tabulation of data involving the use of statistical concepts and formulae;
May assist in the review and analysis of plans, recommendations by other governmental agencies, and/or aspects of development, preservation, or implementation of long and/or short-range program plans;
May assist in analyzing and reporting the findings of processed data; and
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Training & Experience:
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree.
License Requirement:
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (Hawaii type 3 or equivalent) and appropriate licenses or certificates as required of the position.
