Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Planned Maintenance Data Scientist Manager to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Analytical, exceptional communicator, inquisitive, team contributor, confident decision maker, continuous learner, forward-looking, problem solver, analyst subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.
This position is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in accomplished job data per activity to draw conclusions for managerial actions and strategy; develop appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data findings established from information gathered from a variety of data sources such as pivot tables; communicates frequently and effectively aiding in interpreting job completion data within Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) maintenance philosophy identifying performance impacts with team members, managers, and stakeholders; points out system or process problems when noticed and engages teammates in problem solving; functions as required with virtual teammates collaborating to meet strict analysis timelines. Candidate is also responsible for leading the Planned Maintenance/Planned Maintenance Management Plan (PMMP) team as the Section Supervisor involved with defining and improving analysis processes; creating and developing initiatives to improve performance and productivity in developing preventive maintenance plans; oversee PMMP Plan Oracle Database updates, testing and verification of the PMMP Oracle System functionality for submarine preventive maintenance jobs; evaluate application requirements for updates to Maintenance Applications (MA) PMMP software tool; and monitor and control analysis data collection and reporting schedule. Additionally, candidate will also be required to support as section supervisor, other Fleet Maintenance and Documentation Program Area operations as needed. A limited amount of travel to off-site locations is required.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, computer science, information management or statistics and 8+ years professional work experience or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team in data sciences and foster a culture of continuous learning
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail with high accuracy
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst
  • Proficient in documenting findings in written reports and presentations
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with data manipulation
  • Thrive in interdependent work relationships

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Proficient using query languages such as SQL, Pandas
  • Knowledge of data modeling and schema design
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create informative dashboards
  • Knowledgeable of advancements in the field of data science and provide recommendations for incorporating new technologies and methodologies into the practice
  • Knowledge of or conduction of the Strategic System Programs maintenance philosophy
  • PERL Software knowledge and experience
  • Writing skills must be adequate to write procedures implementing planned maintenance programmatic changes and draft necessary reports and correspondence
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interface with government representatives and internal program areas


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $199825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
