Job DescriptionThe Pipeline Designer is responsible for preparing and developing detailed pipeline designs, drawings, and layouts for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects. This role involves working closely with engineers, project teams, and other disciplines to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and prepare pipeline design drawings, plans, and schematics using CAD/3D software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, PDMS, or equivalent).
Assist in route selection, alignment sheets, and material take-offs.
Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, codes (ASME, API, ISO), and project specifications.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to resolve design-related issues.
Update and maintain pipeline drawings and documents throughout the project lifecycle.
Review vendor drawings, perform clash checks, and incorporate feedback.
Participate in design review meetings, HAZOP/HAZID, and constructability reviews.
Support the preparation of as-built drawings and project documentation.
Skills Required
- Proficiency with CAD/3D software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, PDMS)
- Experience in pipeline design for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects
- Knowledge of engineering standards and codes (ASME, API, ISO)
- Ability to perform route selection, alignment sheets, and material take-offs
- Experience reviewing vendor drawings and performing clash checks
