• Read and interpret isometric drawings, spool sheets, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings
• Measure, cut, bevel, align, and fit pipe for welding
• Assemble carbon steel and stainless-steel piping systems
• Install valves, flanges, fittings, and supports
• Perform field measurements and verify dimensions
• Use hand tools, grinders, torches, pipe threading machines, and layout equipment safely
• Prepare piping systems for hydrotesting and inspection
• Work closely with welders, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel to complete projects efficiently
• Work safely in a fabrication shop and/or field environment
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures
• Assist with field installation, repairs, modifications, and shutdown/turnaround work as needed
• Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
• Minimum 3–5 years of pipe fitting experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of process piping systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and isometric drawings
• Experience with pipe alignment, fit-up, and bolt-up
• Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication tolerances
• Familiarity with hydrotesting and piping inspections preferred
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic required
Minimum Education and Experience
• Refinery and chemical plant work
• Process piping fabrication
• Stainless steel and carbon steel piping
• Pressure vessels/storage tanks
• ASME B31.3 piping systems
• Field installation and turnaround work
• Valid TWIC card
• Acceptable MVR/Background Check and pass pre-employment screenings
Work Environment
• Work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks. If requested, work overtime, and respond to emergency callouts whenever they occur. Work days, nights, and weekends and or holidays. Travel to customers and other Miller sites as needed.
• Physical effort required: Handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel. Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
Skills Required
