Job Summary

Arizona Center for Cancer Care is seeking a dynamic and results oriented Physician Relations Manager to drive growth and development within our oncology service lines. This individual will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining relationships with physicians and medical professionals to enhance the reach and impact of our oncology services within the Arizona market. Executes initiatives related to increasing loyalty and preference to AZCCC affiliates among internal and external provider referral sources. Performs activities related to profitable sales and business growth through the identification and contact of customers, cultivation of potential and existing referral sources, tracking of daily sales and outreach activities, and working collaboratively with appropriate internal stakeholders to address issues that may be identified via sales and business development processes. The Physician Relations Manager will be a key contributor to our mission of providing world class cancer care to the community.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with referring physicians, specialists, and healthcare professionals within the Arizona market. Foster a strong network of referring physicians to generate patient referrals.
  • Collaborate with physicians to understand their needs and align our services with their patient care objectives.
  • Seek opportunities to increase the growth of business within the assigned markets and takes appropriate action.
  • Monitors market trends and competition to identify growth opportunities and potential barriers.
  • Records daily sales activities, creates schedules and provides comprehensive updates on prospects and their movement through the sales process.
  • Serves as a communication resource in the delivery and messaging to assigned internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with physicians, leadership, and colleagues to ensure alignment and achieve mutual goals.
  • Maintains on-going relationship(s) with providers, employers and consumers for the purpose of resolving any and all problems identified during the sales call process and to develop and maintain product knowledge.
  • Partners with other departments to develop tools for sales and business building, e.g., brochures/fact sheets, informational packets, and fliers. Suggests new opportunities with potential for financial viability. May order promotional material, collaterals and supplies necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Stay updated on healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation standards in oncology services. Ensure that all initiatives and activities align with legal and ethical standards.
  • Identifies issues and opportunities for improvement and reports to the Director of Business Development. Works with managers and directors to resolve any and all problems identified during the sales call process. Functions as a liaison between the organization and the customer. Follows up with all customer concerns regarding opportunities to improve.
  • Performs activities related to profitable sales and business growth through the identification and contact of customers, cultivation of potential and existing referral sources, tracking of daily sales and outreach activities, and working collaboratively with appropriate internal stakeholders to address issues that may be identified via sales and business development processes.
  • Represents the company and the program(s) in a positive and professional manner.
  • Performs other duties/special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in physician relations or healthcare sales, with a strong background in oncology services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of oncology treatments, procedures, and medical terminology.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance.

License/Certification

Valid driver’s license

  • Minimum lifting requirements of 25 pounds to pack/unpack marketing supplies.
