POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for assisting the physician and office nurse in answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, receiving patients and completing the patient encounter as per office specifications.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and Medical Assistant Certificate from accredited institution. Must be computer literate with previous physician office practice experience. Requires attention to detail, good customer service skills and ability to adapt to changing needs of department. Minimum of three (3) year physician office medical assistant experience preferred.
PHYSICAL I MENTAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to think and work effectively y under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently y throughout the work day, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that wi ll enable these sources to function adequately y so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the assigned responsibilities
• External and internal applicants who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided of or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodat ion to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
• Position has a minimal expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
