Central Health is looking for a skilled neurologist to join their expanding team and provide care to the underserved community in Travis County.

The role involves providing direct patient care and overseeing and interpreting EEGs/EMGs.  Additionally, the neurologist will also complete e-consults and e-reviews in an outpatient clinic setting as required.


In this position, the neurologist will help design clinical workflows to improve access to care, support evidence-based practice and improve efficiency.  This role will serve as both an attending to learners at various levels and may supervise advanced practice providers. 


As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, the neurologist will collaborate closely with the patient to jointly improve their quality of life.  This is a full-time outpatient clinical role that involves direct clinical sessions, divided between ambulatory visits, e-consults/reviews, and the conduction of EEGs/EMGs.  Ten percent of clinical time is allocated to administrative tasks.

JOB FUNCTIONS


Essential Functions

Performs neurology consultations, EEG/EMG procedures, e-consults, and e-reviews in an outpatient clinic setting.

Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on the patient’s condition.

Diagnoses and treats diseases, disorders, and injuries based on the patient’s medical history and physical assessment results.

Prescribes medications and referrals for treatment and preventative care.

Instructs patients and their families regarding procedures performed, home care, and follow-up visits.

Directs and supervises advanced practice providers as needed.

Helps design clinical workflows to improve access to care, support evidence-based practice, and improve efficiency.

Actively communicates with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person and on the phone.

Collaborates with Central Health's operations and clinical leaders to ensure a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Demonstrates professional management skills, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work efficiently and productively.

Actively interacts with peers, executives, employees, and consultants in a manner that represents Central Health positively.

Offers strong decision-making skills, especially in clinical matters.

Contributes to yearly assessments of team members with guidance from the Practice Leader.

Plans, promotes, demonstrates, recommends, and coordinates high standards of medical practice.

Supports, leads, and models the vision, mission, and values of Central Health.
