The Role

The Physical Security Solutions Architect is ANM's senior technical authority for physical security, designing cloud-based solutions for commercial, industrial, and SLED (state, local government, and education) clients across the Carolinas. Working alongside account managers, this architect designs and scopes the solutions that win the business, then hands the implementation and PMO teams a design package precise enough to deliver on margin and on schedule. The role also helps build the practice: setting design standards and improving estimating accuracy.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the technical lead for account managers and customers on physical security opportunities: video, access control, intrusion, intercom, environmental sensors, visitor management, and legacy migration.
  • Lead discovery meetings and on-site surveys to understand the customer's security goals, existing systems, site conditions, and any regulatory requirements.
  • Design end-to-end security solutions that fit the customer's environment, whether new construction, an upgrade, or a migration from legacy systems.
  • Produce the full design package: design layouts and floor-plan markups, bill of materials, labor estimate, pricing, and scope of work.
  • Support the sales cycle through presentations, demonstrations, customer interviews, and RFP/RFI responses.
  • Work with the implementation and PMO teams to ensure a smooth project transition, delivering a complete design package at handoff and supporting kickoff.
  • Remain the technical resource during delivery for design questions and change orders, and use project outcomes to improve future estimates.
  • Identify renewal, add-on, and service opportunities on assigned accounts and hand them to sales.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other ANM teams to deliver complete solutions for customers.
  • Contribute to design standards, templates, and lessons-learned, support other Solutions Architects and Systems Engineers as needed, and promote a positive team environment.

What We Are Looking For

  • Active North Carolina alarm systems license and North Carolina low voltage license, in good standing.
  • Five (5)+ years in physical security or low voltage integration, including two (2)+ years in presales, solution design, or estimating.
  • Proven ability to produce complete designs and estimates covering labor, materials, and subcontracted trades.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking (VLANs, PoE, switching) for security systems.
  • Strong proposal, estimating, and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam or similar markup tools, Microsoft Office, and CRM or quoting systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to lead conversations with executives and IT teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, as required for licensure and secure client sites.

Preferred Experience

  • Pre-sales experience with a VAR or security integrator.
  • Verkada product certifications.
  • Security industry credentials such as PSP, CPP, or NICET.
  • Experience with on premise platforms (Genetec, Lenel, Avigilon, Milestone, analog/DVR) to support migration and rip-and-replace projects.
  • Experience with government, healthcare, education, or critical infrastructure clients and their compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, IBC, and ADA requirements that affect security installations.

Travel
Travel is occasionally required for this position. Must have a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
