JOB SUMMARY:
The Metrology Technician is responsible for providing calibration and repair services on TMDE/standards. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents. Requires the ability to use complex test instruments and control equipment.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree or relative equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in metrology and repair of TMDE.
- Excellent working knowledge of calibration and maintenance of primary measurements standards.
- Possesses the knowledge required to read and understand schematic and wiring drawings.
- Thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and TO 00-20-14.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains, repairs and calibrates Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and primary standards.
- Performs general maintenance and overhaul procedures; uses TMDE to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Lifting/Moving Requirements: The individual ability to lift up to 50 pounds and the ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when calibrating certain TMDE.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Normally works in an environmentally controlled work area.
Skills Required
- Associate degree or equivalent related experience
