What you will do

The Pharmacy Wholesale Lead is responsible for leading and managing your sales team to achieve sales objectives of revenue, volume, share and profit, while ensuring compliance with all local regulations. You will coordinate sales distribution and account management to maximize product presence and market potential. You will own the relationship with our Domestic distributor (currently Permark) and Pharmacy Wholesale partners, while collaborating with multiple internal partners and stakeholders to drive best-in-class execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management of all Domestic distributor partners and wholesalers, specifically Pharmacy wholesalers.

  • Developing and executing the key account plans/activities for the Independent Pharmacy Wholesalers accounts, Buying groups and individual store outlets

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve against key performance measures – including Sales, Budgets, GP, Share, NPI Speed-To-Market, Distribution and In-Market pricing.

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships to drive growth and profitability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns and promotions.

  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities to build and execute Key Account specific objectives

  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize ROI and achieve business objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, including regional buying and operations teams to drive sales and deliver best-in-class in-store execution across the channels.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team member(s) to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Where possible and applicable, drive the implementation of robust JBP (Joint Business Planning) programs

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and analysis of account specific promotion programs to drive key decisions.

  • Lead and own the Domestic Distributor and wholesaler channel forecasts by participating in the planning and providing input into the forecast processes for channel and brand plans to drive business growth.

  • Practice healthy inventory management with distributors and wholesalers to ensure product availability and efficient order forecasting/placement

  • Partner with relevant third-party providers, specifically in sales and merchandising to drive best-in-class execution.

  • Provide reports to management for communication and approval to ensure transparency.

  • Support, and where appropriate, lead distributor and wholesaler negotiations, while maintaining the use of company and industry best practices.

  • Maintain close partnership with other departments/functions, for example, trade marketing, marketing, sales, demand management, supply planning & procurement to improve business results.

  • Manage allocated budget effectively to ensure financial commitments are met.

  • Participation and engagement in key forums where required (Forecasting, Marketing/shopper insight sessions, Market research, national negotiations, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, or other business-related fields.

  • 5-7 years of experience in customer facing roles within the FMCG and Pharmacy environment.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.

  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on results and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in forecasting and business planning to ensure business growth

  • Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/initiatives to ensure efficiency

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment to collaborate effectively

  • Ability to manage conflict and negotiate successfully to maintain strong relationships

  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, sales database, and web applications to ensure efficiency

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in data intelligence/visualization applications (Tableau, Power BI, Pyramid etc.), Excel, and PowerPoint to analyze data and present insights

  • Experience with XTEL for trade spend management

  • Experience and understanding of local trade regulations surrounding the sale of controlled/scheduled substances
