Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Flight Management System Design and Analysis Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO to support the development and integration of a Flight Management System.
The Flight Management System (FMS) is a fundamental component of a modern transport airplanes. An FMS is a specialized computer system that automates a wide variety of in-flight tasks, reducing the workload on the pilot. The FMS provides and/or automates Flight Planning, Datalink, Guidance, Navigation, Performance and Thrust Management functionality. You can expect to interface with engineers from all a multitude of teams such as hardware, software, PVI, Human Factors, Vehicle
Management, Communications, and Navigation.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Flight Management System Design and Analysis Engineer.
A successful candidate may have experience in the following areas:

Experience with Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) functionality

Experience with Flight Management Systems
-
Experience with Software/Hardware Integration
-
Experience with FAA or Military certification processes
-
Experience working in a cross-functional team
Position Responsibilities:
-
Develop and validate hardware and software system functional and software requirements for the FMS and other CNS/ATM capabilities
-
Support the design of hardware, software and interface specifications
-
Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

Develop tests to evaluate system
-
Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
-
Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

(Level 3) 5+ years of work related experience with a Bachelor’s or 3+ years of work related experience with a Master’s or work related experience with a PhD

(Level 4) 9+ years of work related experience with a Bachelor’s or 7+ years of work related experience with a Master’s or 4+ years of work related experience with a PhD
Typical Education/Experience:
(Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
(Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (Experienced, level 3): $90,050 - $129,950
Summary pay range (Senior, level 4): $119,850 - $162,150
