We are searching for a Performance Marketing Analyst to join this amazing dynamic team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and curious with a passion for understanding the why. This individual will combine their passion with expertise in digital marketing analytics to optimize campaign targeting, measure performance, and drive overall marketing efficiency. The Performance Marketing Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting customer acquisition, increasing conversion rates, and optimizing marketing strategies through data-driven insights. This position requires the ability to communicate your methods and findings by speaking conversationally about the rationale behind assumptions and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Optimization:
    • Analyze owned and paid media data to support the team in formulating campaign optimization strategies.
    • Utilize customer data from email, SMS, and customer databases to help draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations to improve customer lifetime value and company sales.
    • Leverage existing media mix modeling and partnerships to understand the relationship between our marketing inputs and outputs, and clearly articulate opportunities and risks.
    • Evaluate data to drive insights into conversion rates, customer acquisition, and other key performance goals.
    • Participate in the advancement of targeting techniques and strategies to strengthen customer relationships.
    • Actively contribute to marketing discussions to support hypothesis testing including test design, implementation, and analysis.
  • Forecasting:
    • Develop forecasting models to gauge growth trajectory, predict future marketing outcomes, and avoid oversaturating channels (segmentation, classification, propensity, LTV models).
    • Demonstrate expertise in modeling with the ability to help establish performance goals through historical analysis and communicated assumptions.
    • Budget Allocation:
    • Leverage forecasting ability to assist the marketing team in allocating budgets wisely based on analytical insights.
    • Identify growth opportunities and recommend strategic budget adjustments for optimal results to drive improved return on investment and efficient customer acquisition costs.
  • Reporting and Visualization:
    • Develop and maintain interactive reporting dashboards using existing reporting tools and Excel to communicate performance updates on key metrics and channels (i.e. paid, organic, and owned).
    • Collaborate with the team to understand reporting requirements and ensure the delivery of actionable insights.
    • Track and report customer segment performance.
  • Day to Day:
    • Collaborate with the team exploring, discussing, and ideating on results to identify forward-looking risks and opportunities.
    • Provide competitive information with insight as needed.
    • Offer ad-hoc analysis to help cross-functional teams better understand product trends by customer segment and the role of each product category in the customer journey supporting the identification of growth opportunities such as cross-selling, up-selling, and product gaps.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Business, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field
  • Experience or desire to work in a small, fast-paced company where cross-functional partnerships are critical to driving a direct and tangible business impact
  • 3+ years in an analysis role with experience in a retail/e-commerce business preferred
  • Experience working with marketing data, user growth and acquisition across consumer products is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data-driven findings to non-technical cross-functional team members and build cross-functional relationships
  • Solid understanding of model building and forecasting with experience in statistical analysis and tools a plus
  • High proficiency with Excel required with experience in systems such as NetSuite, Shopify, Google Analytics, Monetate, and Northbeam a strong plus
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI) and strong SQL skills a plus
