Synechron is seeking a skilled Performance Developer with deep expertise in scripting and performance engineering to join our team. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing performance test frameworks and analyzing system-level behaviors to ensure optimal performance of high-throughput payment systems including Fedwire, RTP, and FedNow. The Performance Developer will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to identify and remediate performance bottlenecks, contributing to enhanced system reliability and business continuity.

Software Requirements

Required:

  • Strong scripting proficiency in JavaScript and Python for automation and workload generation.

  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Grafana K6.

  • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.

  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms including Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, CloudWatch, or similar.

  • Basic understanding of Java and Spring Boot for application performance analysis.

  • Knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, JSON, and microservice architectures.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized environments.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Exposure to messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain performance automation scripts and frameworks using JavaScript and Python.

  • Build scalable utilities and libraries to support continuous performance validation.

  • Develop performance workloads suitable for JMeter, K6, or equivalent tools.

  • Analyze performance metrics including response times, throughput, CPU, memory, garbage collection, I/O, and database latency.

  • Execute and interpret load, stress, endurance, and capacity tests on high-throughput payment systems.

  • Collaborate with development teams to analyze code-level performance and recommend optimizations.

  • Integrate performance testing within CI/CD pipelines to enable automated performance validation.

  • Use monitoring tools to evaluate real-time system behavior and create performance dashboards and trend reports.

  • Participate in JVM tuning, database tuning, infrastructure optimization, and microservice performance discussions.

  • Quickly learn and adapt to new performance technologies, tools, and cloud platforms.

  • Analyze test results and system telemetry to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.

  • Integrate and automate performance tests within CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery workflows.

  • Prepare detailed reports on performance trends, system behavior, and tuning recommendations.

  • Participate actively in Agile team ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Keep abreast of emerging performance engineering tools, practices, and cloud technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Relevant certifications in performance engineering, scripting, or cloud technologies are advantageous.
