We’re growing our team and seeking a dynamic, customer-focused Generalist toplay a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and effective people operations and cultivating a best in class employee experience. This role is located in Bendigo, Australia, covering APAC region currently operating under a hybrid model, and reporting to the Senior Director, People Operations in London. 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for team members in Australia- responding to inquiries, providing information, ensuring compliance and policy support 
  • Serve as a bridge between local management and the people team, facilitating communication and nurturing connections 
  • Work across the business to support the development and understanding of self service applications 
  • Welcome and onboard new hires, in partnership with people team and other colleagues in Finance, Legal, and IT, enabling a positive first impression
  • Organize local initiatives to promote engagement and foster a positive employee experience 
  • Manage benefits enrolment, administration, and communications for a global team of employees 
  • Support, embed, and improve global people policies and processes, including performance management, career development, recognition, and time off management 
  • Uphold compliance with relevant employment laws, in particular including but not limited to those impacting payroll, policies, and best practices, including Banking, Finance and Insurance Modern Award, keeping abreast of changes to legislation and legal timelines 
  • Consistently enhanceHR knowledge and skills for professional growth 
  • Coordinate with external vendors as needed 

Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years experience in human resources or a related field 
  • Experience multi-tasking, problem solving, and query resolution in a fast paced environment 
  • Operational excellence, with strong attention to detail and project execution skills as well as demonstrated ability to automate and create efficiencies 
  • Proficiency with local employment practices, policies, and laws, with a willingness to learn what you don’t yet know 
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Curious with an inquisitive and innovative spirit- an eye for process improvement and innovation
  • The ability to thrive working independently (across geographies) and as part of a team 
  • Applied knowledge of work authorizations and permits/visas to support international relocations 
  • Tech savvy, with experience with HR tools and technologies (including Lever, ADP, Culture Amp, and BambooHR) preferred 
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage relationships
