The RoleWe are seeking a highly organised People Operations Specialist to support the Senior People Business Partner and play a key role in managing HR administration, compliance, employee lifecycle processes, and on-site HR support. Based in Gqeberha, this role ensures efficient execution of people operations and seamless service to employees at both office and operational sites.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee end-to-end HR administration including onboarding, contracts, and offboarding
Maintain employee records, leave tracking, and assist with payroll updates
Support with labour law compliance, inspections, and employee relations (ER/IR)
Coordinate recruitment logistics, onboarding equipment, and in-office inductions
Assist with performance and probation tracking, documentation, and compliance
Support engagement activities, wellness drives, and team events
Liaise with site managers to ensure HR documentation and H&S compliance
Collaborate with the Talent Team, Compensation & Benefits, and business units
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field
3–5 years’ experience in a high-volume HR administration or people operations role
Strong understanding of South African Labour Law
Experience with HRIS systems (Sage VIP, Payspace) and MS365 suite
Ability to work effectively across office and remote teams
Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
Experience in the energy or infrastructure sector
Fluency in a third South African language
