Position Summary

As a core member of our People & Operations team, you’ll work across our offices in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, helping shape how we attract, onboard, and engage exceptional talent. You’ll lead and support high-impact HR initiatives, drive internal communications, and help build the systems that nurture a strong and inclusive culture.

This is a high-impact, growth-focused role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, cares deeply about people, and is eager to help build a modern, mission-driven workplace from the ground up.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Operations and will work closely with the HR Associate in Dar es Salaam. This is a cross-functional role therefore the candidate will be required to collaborate with other departments internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  1. Support end-to-end recruitment and staffing processes including job description development, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding coordination.

  2. Manage employee orientation and onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration and engagement of new hires.

  3. Drive employee engagement initiatives and internal events that foster a positive workplace culture.

  4. Oversee attendance tracking and resolve attendance-related issues using biometric systems and reporting tools.

  5. Lead key HR projects, including but limited to, the development of the company-wide Employee Handbook and rollout of the Employee Value Proposition (EVP).

  6. Provide general HR operational support, assisting with HR initiatives, process improvements, and maintaining accurate records and reports.

  7. Oversee day-to-day office and facilities operations, including office supplies, equipment, workplace requirements, vendor coordination, maintenance, and ensuring the office environment is well-equipped, functional, and conducive to employee productivity.




Requirements

This position is for you if you:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in a senior HR role. And experience in the technology or telecommunications industry is an added advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws in Africa.

  • Experience in talent acquisition, talent management, and performance management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.

  • Analytical mindset and the ability to identify HR-related challenges and propose effective solutions.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry.

  • Experience working in diverse cultural environments

  • Proactively engages with people from different backgrounds, encourages equal opportunity for all and participation from everyone, and ensures that diverse thoughts are freely shared and integrated.

  • Ability to plan and organize projects and departmental deliverables. Ability to empower and develop people within the organization.
