About the roleWe are looking to add a People Operations Manager to our UK team. This is a broad, hands-on role in a small People team, which means you will own the day-to-day running of People Operations for our UK team rather than one narrow piece of it. You will be the first point of contact for employees and managers, work directly with the Senior Leadership Team, and see the results of your work quickly.
- Oversee day-to-day HR activity for the UK team and European contractors: onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, contracts, HR systems, benefits administration and compliance. Make sure every new joiner has a smooth first week and every leaver a respectful exit, whether they are in the office or working remotely.
- Give practical, thoughtful advice to managers and employees. Manage employee relations processes such as grievances, disciplinaries, absence and performance. Ensure we stay legally compliant and apply our policies consistently and fairly.
- Coordinate our established performance management processes, including review cycles, guidance and coaching for managers, documentation and reporting, so that reviews happen on time and lead to professional development.
- Run our engagement surveys from start to finish: administer them, analyse and present the results to leadership, and coordinate the follow-up actions that leadership agrees.
- Help organise engagement activities, internal events and recognition initiatives, and write and send company-wide People communications that keep everyone informed.
- Keep People data accurate in Rippling and produce our monthly People KPI reports, spotting trends in areas such as headcount, turnover and absence and raising them with the right people.
- Around 3 to 7 years of experience in an HR or People Operations role, ideally including time as an HR Advisor, People Partner or People Operations Specialist.
- A good working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice, and an interest in keeping up with changes.
- Hands-on experience managing employee relations cases from start to finish.
- Experience running onboarding, offboarding, benefits and HR administration with a high level of accuracy.
- Confidence using an HRIS (Rippling is a plus) and spreadsheets to keep data clean and build simple reports.
- Clear communication and the confidence to advise managers at every level, including senior leaders.
- Sound judgement and discretion with confidential and personal employee data.
- A practical, organised approach and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Ability to be in our London office regularly (Farringdon Station).
- CIPD Level 5 or above, or currently working towards it.
- Experience in a scale-up or other fast-changing environment.
- Experience supporting an operations-heavy or service business, or a team split across office and remote working in other countries.
- Exposure to consultation processes or organisational change.
Salary: £50,000-75,000
- Mission-driven work: Every commute we power helps reduce CO₂ emissions and makes work more accessible especially in areas with limited public transport
- Global exposure: Be part of a 120+ person team across the US, UK, and Spain
- Supportive Benefits: We offer Private health insurance through Vitality, including fast access to a virtual GP. Cycle to work scheme and workplace nursery or childcare scheme. Annual offsite and learning budget.
- Best-in-class tech: Our platform is redefining how organizations move their people.
Zeelo is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from everyone, whatever their background, and we know that people sometimes hold back from applying unless they meet every requirement. If this role excites you but your experience does not match every point, we would still like to hear from you. If you need any adjustments during the application process, let us know and we will be happy to help.
