Role Overview
The Pega DevOps Engineer role within the Center of Excellence (COE) adds specialized technical execution for automated continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), pipeline orchestration via Jenkins, automated build frameworks, release governance, and foundational tooling support to advance enterprise-wide Pega application delivery. Pega-focused DevOps Engineer with strong automation skills, Jenkins pipeline expertise, and reusable deployment framework experience.
Creates, builds, and maintains automated CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and modern build tools to streamline Pega software packaging, testing, and deployment. Proposes & designs reusable deployment frameworks and automated provisioning workflows to address complex enterprise release needs. Prepares technical build guides and release documentation required. Facilitates complex problem resolution across build failures, environment synchronization, code promotion bottlenecks, and deployment logging. Provides technical guidance and support to development and architecture teams regarding build standards, branch strategies, and release automation best practices. Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance release velocity, deployment reliability, and platform operational efficiency.

Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with automated code promotions, release compliance, and pipeline security controls to ensure they adhere to and support the company's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Required Qualifications/Skills 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ Years of overall IT experience with 4+ years specializing in Pega deployment automation, CI/CD pipeline building, and release management, preferably in a large banking / financial institution environment supporting enterprise-scale operations.
  • Proven expertise in creating automated CI/CD pipelines and reusable deployment frameworks specifically for Pega platforms

  • Hands-on production experience with Jenkins (pipeline scripting, job creation, webhook integration, and plugin management)

  • Deep understanding of Pega deployment mechanics (rule archiving, product rule generation, migration tools, and Deployment Manager integration)

  • Familiarity with Pega COE architectural concepts, reusable component architecture, case management patterns, data modeling, and modern UI paradigms (such as Constellation)

  • Version control management (Git, Bitbucket, branching strategies for Pega rulesets)
