Greater Nashua Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and recovery-oriented Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our Substance Use Disorder Services team. This role utilizes lived experience in recovery and specialized peer support training to assist individuals in engaging in treatment, building recovery capital, navigating community resources, and achieving their personal recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Using a Peer Recovery Coaching framework, provide outreach, peer support, and mentoring for clients in treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Share lived experience in a professional manner to promote hope and recovery.
  • Educate individuals on stages of recovery and wellness.
  • Assist clients in identifying strengths and recovery goals.
  • Connect clients with community supports and recovery resources.
  • Provide individual and group peer recovery support services.
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other providers.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • CCAR Recovery Coach Academy training required or obtainable.
  • CRSW certification preferred.
  • Lived experience in recovery required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of community recovery resources.
  • Documentation skills for Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and electronic medical records
  • Valid driver license and reliable transportation required.
