Payroll Team Leader

Description

The position is based at the Center of Excellence located in Asunción (Paraguay).

Payroll Team Leader is accountable for running the payroll for the America´s countries in which the company operates, collaborating with outsourced agencies in each country. Will be accountable as well for travel expenses process on those countries.

Leading a team of two team members, will work closely with HR function, Internal Audit, external auditors, and the regional accounting functions, like General Ledger, Cash Management, and Compliance & Audit.

Main responsibilities

·       Establish and oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy, adherence to labor regulations and corporate policies, though strengthened procedures.

·       Collaborate with external advisors to stay abreast of changes in labor rules.

·       Actively participates in payroll accounting matters, such as Cost Center updates, calculation and booking of provisions and accruals.

·       Establish and oversee travel expenses processes to ensure adherence to corporate policies and tax regulations.

·       Prepare and/or monitor payroll and travel expenses reporting.

·       Identify risks and issues on payroll and travel expenses processes, communicate proactively, take measures to mitigate and correct them.

·       Collaborate with Corporate functions, like HR, Legal, Internal Audit, Global Travel, Travel Coordinators.

·       Actively participate in external audits, provide auditors with the information required.

·       Improve payroll and travel expense processes to enhance efficacy and efficiency.

Lead the Payroll team, set goals, hold one-to-one conversations, provide feedback.

Requirements

·       Technical: degree in Accounting.

·       Experience: 5-10 years of payroll processing experience in medium-big size companies / accounting or payroll firms.

·       Soft skills: Analytical. Critical thinking. Problem-solving. Assertive communication. Leadership.

·       Languages: English. Portuguese. Spanish.
