About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Support Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the support and maintenance of our Dayforce payroll system for our Canada and US Divisions. This role will ensure seamless operations and provide exceptional customer service to our internal stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of Dayforce payroll processes, system configurations and reporting.
Your Responsibilities

  • First point of escalation for critical payroll application defects, and act as the primary point of contact for payroll system-related inquiries and issues
  • Establishes self as Subject Matter Expert on Dayforce Payroll and General Ledger configurations.
  • Lead Payroll module release management for all Dayforce Releases
  • Troubleshoots and resolves payroll system issues, working closely with IT and HR teams to identify and implement solutions
  • Coordinate with Dayforce application System Users for system upgrades and patches
  • Responsible for leading/completing complex configuration
  • Accountable for Quality Assurance and Ticket Management
  • Responsible for initial and on-going training of other team members
  • Ad-hoc project support for payroll projects as required
  • Establishment, configuration, and maintenance of Magna Legal Entities in Dayforce HCM
  • Technical decommissioning of Legal Entities in Dayforce
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide appropriate support
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements; lead initiatives to implement changes that increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Generate and analyze reports related to payroll system performance and issues
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management on an application based technical perspective.


Who we are looking for

  • 5 years of payroll & payroll system experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of payroll and payroll systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and analytic skills with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients' needs and situation
  • Excellent collaborator and a team player
  • Well-developed root-cause analytical skills with the ability to configure and troubleshoot issues and defects
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information
  • Understanding of HR, payroll and time operations and experience in employee data management
  • Ability to understand business priorities and align technology opportunities
  • Ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Focus on quality customer service
  • Deep experience with Dayforce payroll
  • Certification in payroll management or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of Dayforce WFM an asset
  • Knowledge of Workday HCM also an asset

  • Completion of University Degree
  • 5 Years of Work Related Experience
