What You’ll Do
- Run the payroll show for 1,000+ employees across multiple companies, handling bi-weekly pay, monthly bonuses, and even those surprise weekly payrolls that sneak in.
- Manage the payroll workflow, ensuring every transaction is processed like clockwork. You’re the conductor of the payroll train—no delays on your watch!
- Reconcile payroll like a detective, double-checking everything before sending it out to make sure no one’s paycheck gets lost in the digital ether.
- Be the tax guru for employer-paid benefits, ensuring everything is taxed properly so we don’t end up in a stinky situation with the IRS.
- Master the art of time and attendance processing in ADP (WFMgr), seamlessly syncing it with payroll like a well-oiled machine.
- Take charge of garnishment payments, processing and requesting them like a pro. After each bi-weekly payroll run, you’ll balance those accounts and make sure everything is submitted on time.
- Deal with unemployment claims when they pop up.
- Quarterly reporting to various agencies.
- Take on other HR administrative tasks, because why not add a little extra variety to your payroll adventures?
What You’ll Need
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, able to work with and through others to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to learn new concepts and stay organized, maintaining a high level of attention to detail while multitasking in a deadline driven environment (there are a lot of moving pieces and skunks headed in every direction!).
- Willing to act as an agent for change; being flexible and patient, open to suggestions, and a keen eye for opportunities to improve processes.
- Ability to make quick decisions and keep management in the loop, while rolling with the punches to keep projects on track and escalating any issues to leadership when necessary.
- Solution focused thinking- You get 5 minutes to complain, then we kick tail!
- Be an HR dictionary – you know the lingo well enough that you could teach a class on "How to Speak HR without Looking Confused.".
- You can handle writing an email, chatting with coworkers, or making phone calls with style (and mostly no awkwardness- it happens to the best of us!).
- Able to handle tasks with minimal handholding and know how to collaborate with others to get things done.
- Dependable, reliable, flexible, quick – you’re like a Swiss army knife but with patience and a smile, always ready to adapt and roll with the punches.
- Maintain confidentiality better than Grandma guards her cookie recipe from the neighbors.
