This position is part of the Finance Department located in Fargo, ND and remote. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the Accounting team and report to the Director of Accounting responsible for managing the organization’s multi-state payroll ensuring accuracy within required deadlines.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage biweekly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in compliance with company policies and tax regulations.

  • Oversee the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and ensure accurate pay adjustments and incentive payments.

  • Review and reconcile quarterly and annual tax filings, and manage all payroll-related audits.

  • Develop and maintain automated payroll and time reporting systems, and drive continuous improvement and standardization in payroll processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments and vendors to resolve payroll issues, support SOX compliance, and contribute to system upgrades and process improvements.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with 2+ years experience OR Master's degree with 0+ years experience.

  • Strong knowledge of statutory regulations, payroll best practices, and a high attention to detail with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Awareness of confidentiality standards and a strong desire to learn and thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
