The Payroll & HR Systems Specialist will boost the transformation of Human Resources, by establishing Payroll as a core competency, driving service level improvements, evaluating and selecting vendor partners, capturing and sharing accurate information, leveraging systems and data to enable better and more efficient business decisions. The Payroll & HR Systems Specialist will also assist with benefits management/administration.
Location: this position has a hybrid work structure to include a combination of onsite at our facility in Waukesha & remote from home.
- Process a timely and compliant US Payroll for three business entities across multiple states. Maintain payroll and employee data with a high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with federal/state/local taxes, court orders, wage and hour compliance and time off/leave of absence payment compliance.
- Manage administration of HRIS, technical processes, audits, reconciliations, reports and analytics.
- Establish and document standard operating procedures and create process maps; actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities including the application of technology.
- Manage payroll vendor relationships; actively participate in vendor evaluations/selection; own/drive transitions; establish regular vendor evaluation protocol/rhythm; ensure timely billing, including audit, reconciliation and payment
- Strong communication/collaboration skills
- High detail orientation; conscientious and persistent about data accuracy and compliance
- Mature; strong personal integrity; values-based action
- Ability to manage ambiguity; adaptable, flexible and resilient
- BS in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or relatable field; Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
- 5+ years of payroll experience; including payroll/HRIS systems such as ADP and Workday
- Experience with multistate payroll processes and systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and analytics
