The Role

POSITION SUMMARY

Husco provides driven, analytical and forward-thinking HR professionals with the opportunity to support and enhance company programs within the Human Resources department. The Payroll Coordinator will be a key team member of the Human Resources department functioning as the primary payroll associate for weekly shop payroll while supporting the front desk and benefits. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with regulations, and providing support to employees regarding payroll matters. This position will require close collaboration with all members of the HR team.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

  • Payroll: Process payroll for all weekly shop company divisions. This includes all payroll changes, timecard imports, entering and monitoring employee data, deductions and garnishments while ensuring promptness and accuracy as well as identifying opportunities to streamline processes.
  • Payroll Systems: Maintain the payroll database (ADP) and ensure flawless payroll processing. Track and report shop attendance and vacation audits when needed. Ensure pay practices are legally compliant and consistent across facilities. Support activities to complete bonus cycle and merit cycle processing.
  • Benefits: Assist with preparing electronic benefit files and transmitting to vendors after each payroll. Assist in approving benefit elections for shop employees and ensuring deductions are taken properly. Administers time off and leave policies for shop as needed. Aids in COBRA communication mailings. Assist in creating monthly wellness communications.
  • Front Desk Coverage: Acts as main front desk backup. This may include daily lunch breaks.
  • Service Oriented Resource for Internal Employee Issues and External Inquiries: Responsible for fielding general calls and emails relating to payroll and payroll policies. Communicate payroll policies, procedures, and changes as necessary.
  • Strong Team Player and Collaborator: Able to work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast-paced and high-pressure atmosphere. Combines strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results, execution and deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or equivalent or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years payroll experience in Human Resources
  • Experience working in a fast paced, results oriented environment preferred.
  • Requires familiarity with HR policies and record keeping requirements.
  • Experience in HRIS and timecard systems. (ADP and Kronos preferred)
  • High level of computer literacy to include: Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), familiarity with desktop publishing programs and able to use the Internet as an information source
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, producing results with accuracy and reliability.
  • Patience and the ability to function in a high-energy and occasionally high-stress environment.
  • Highly confidential in all aspects of professional interaction.
  • Exhibits a positive image, pleasant personality, and high level of professional demeanor.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills. Able to Multi-task, tolerate peak workloads working overtime as required. Ability to work independently and handle several projects at a time.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, presentation design, and database management skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • In a standard workday, this person will be required to sit 80%, stand or walk 20%, and drive/travel.
  • Repetitive use of the hands as to fine manipulation/dexterity will be required for use of inspection and calibration instruments, data/dexterity will be required for use of inspection and calibration instruments, data input, writing, manipulation of "mouse" and phone dialing. Phone duties require: clear and audible speech.
  • Visual requirements include excellent number and depth perception, strong reading abilities, ability to read computer printouts and computer spreadsheet applications.
  • This person may come in contact with all types of office or shop hazards: temperature, occasional contact with chemicals, fumes, etc.
