About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with strong cross-border payroll experience to join our finance and accounting team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processes for our globally distributed staff (across 28 countries), managing employee reimbursements and commissions, and supporting our rewards-related financial operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in partnering with HR and key stakeholders, identifying areas for improvement, and providing actionable insights to the management.
Key Responsibilities

• Own the global payroll accounting process across all jurisdictions where Viamo operates.
• Collaborate with HR and country teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions, payments, and reconciliations.
• Process and reconcile employee expenses and ensure compliance with internal policies and tax regulations.
• Manage commission tracking, accounting, and reporting in coordination with sales and HR teams.
• Maintain detailed payroll-related general ledger entries and ensure alignment with ERP data.
• Support month-end close activities related to payroll and employee reimbursements.
• Provide audit support for payroll-related queries and documentation.
• Partner with the broader finance and HR teams to improve payroll and reward-related processes.

Profile

Required

• 5+ years of hands-on payroll accounting experience, including cross-border payroll across multiple countries.
• Strong Excel skills and data accuracy mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially across distributed teams.
• Be a team player and assist the wider teams if and when they need support
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions

Desirable

• ERP system experience is required — experience with NetSuite is a strong asset.
• Experience managing payroll and employee expenses in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
• Strong knowledge of labor regulations, tax compliance, and statutory filings related to payroll in multiple jurisdictions.
• Spoken and written French skills would be an added advantage
