Cre8tive Technology & Design is currently hiring a Payroll Accountant who is a dynamic individual with proven experience with a range of payroll, benefits, and accounting functions and procedures.  

The Payroll Accountant is responsible for managing the full payroll cycle while supporting key accounting functions within the Finance team. This hybrid role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing for U.S. employees and international subcontractors, maintains payroll-related accounting records, and performs reconciliations of payroll and employee benefit accounts. Working closely with Human Resources and reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across payroll and financial operations.

Requirements

How you will make an impact:  

  • Process biweekly payroll for approximately 100 U.S. employees across multiple states and international subcontractors. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll changes. 
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. 
  • Reconcile employee benefit accounts, including health insurance, 401(k), FSA, HSA, and other employee deductions and employer contributions. 
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including payroll accruals and account reconciliations.  
  • Provide clerical assistance to Controller, HR, and Leadership.?

To qualify for this role, some of the considerations are:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll administration. 
  • Strong understanding of federal and state payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, payroll taxation, and compliance requirements. 
  • Experience utilizing systems such as Paylocity and QuickBooks preferred.   
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Suite required.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience

  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, payroll taxation, and compliance requirements

  • Ability to work in the office four days per week
