As a Senior Product Associate on the Payments XDLC Transformation team, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. You will help launch and support cross-functional pilot Pods, use AI and analytical tools to derive insights from how Payments teams actually work, and translate those insights into the new target operating model for the Payments PDLC. You will partner closely with product, engineering, design, risk, controls, and firmwide AI stakeholders, and gain broad exposure across the Payments’ product lines while developing deep transformation experience.
Payments XDLC Transformation is a Payments-wide initiative to establish a predictable, scalable, and auditable product delivery operating model by embedding AI / agentic tools and updated ways of working across a common lifecycle. The program scope spans both the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for all of JPMC’s CIB Payments business.
- Partners with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities that reflect the needs of our customers and the market through user research and discovery
- Considers and plans for upstream and downstream implications of new product features on the overall product experience
- Supports the collection of user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic product roadmap and provide insight on potential product features that provide value to customers
- Analyzes, tracks, and evaluates product metrics including work to time, cost, and quality targets across the product development life cycle
- Writes the requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development
- Help build out the new target operating model for the Payments PDLC—defining lifecycle stages, roles and decision rights (human + agent), governance / RACI, and how work flows across PDLC and SDLC from ideation through production support
- Support launch and ongoing enablement of cross-functional pilot pods, including onboarding materials, office hours, and feedback loops that generate adoption and learnings
- Apply AI and analytical tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Excel / BI tools) to derive insights from pod activity, lifecycle telemetry, and practitioner feedback—and turn those insights into recommendations that shape the operating model
- Partner with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve the Payments XDLC operating model and ways of working, surfacing them through user research, discovery, and engagement with pilot Pods and firmwide stakeholders
- Collaborate with risk, controls, and compliance partners to translate “built-in” controls (e.g., automated evidence, standardized guardrails) into operating-model and lifecycle standards that improve auditability and reduce operational risk
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area (e.g., technology transformation, change management, developer experience, operating-model work)
- Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle: including discovery, requirements definition, backlog management, and launch
- Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition
- Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy

- Independent, “go-getter” orientation—comfortable operating with ambiguity on a small team and driving work forward with minimal direction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across a highly matrixed, cross-functional team
- Working knowledge of modern agile product delivery models and software development practices (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, DevOps, CI/CD) across the PDLC and SDLC
- Exposure to change management or transformation programs, including stakeholder engagement, communications, and adoption measurement
- Experience partnering with engineering, design, and risk / controls partners in a regulated environment
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field)
