Purpose of the role

Product Managers are responsible for the leading the strategic focus of the product(s), defining the product vision, market strategy, and competitive analysis. They think about the product's future and how it will evolve over time. They work with various teams, including marketing, engineering, operations, and sales, to ensure everyone is aligned on the product strategy.  They use data and market research to inform their decisions and prioritize product features. 

Accountabilities

  • Define Product Strategy: Accountable for defining a product strategy that aligns with business vision, managing capabilities, balancing short-term with long-term goals, ensuring that products meet market demands and drive growth. 

  • Cross functional alignment: Leadership of cross functional relationships, working with various cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of product strategy and goals.

  • Risk and Control:  Accountable for overseeing product risk management, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the product management and control functions.

  • Product Development Lifecycle: Own product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring efficient processes, on-time delivery, and alignment with E2E customer expectations and experience. – working with product owners to drive change objectives.

  • Deliver Product Goals and Performance: Deliver clear objectives and key outcomes to steer the product vision and ensure alignment with company’s business goals, financial targets, and strategic vision, driving long-term business success.  

  • Data driven decisions: Monitor product performance through data-driven analysis and insights,  regularly assessing progress against objectives and adjusting the strategies as needed to optimise outcomes and maximise value for both business and customer. 

  • Customer-Centric Focus: Drive a customer -first approach across the product vision, ensuring customer insights, feedback, behaviours, and pain points are at the core of the product strategy and decision-making process.  

  • Business and financial acumen: Understanding pricing models, costs structures, and ROI to make financially grounded decisions regarding product development.

  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.

  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.

  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.

Join us as a Payments Product Manager within our Transaction Banking (Global Transaction Banking) team, where you will support the development and delivery of Euro Clearing and payments solutions for Financial Institutions and FinTech clients. You will act as a trusted partner to the Product Lead, contributing to product strategy, delivery and stakeholder engagement across the end-to-end product lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring product initiatives are aligned to client needs, regulatory expectations and commercial objectives.

Operating within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will contribute to the delivery of product workstreams, working closely with Technology, Operations and Control functions. You will translate business requirements into structured outputs, contribute to product roadmaps and support commercial analysis, while maintaining a clear focus on governance and risk. This role offers an opportunity to deepen expertise in payments and clearing while developing your ability to represent product topics across a range of forums.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Ability to take ownership of initiatives and deliver outcomes end-to-end
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and representing product topics when required
  • Structured problem-solving capability, with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear actions
  • Effective stakeholder management across business, technology and control functions
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex material in a governance-aware manner
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to apply judgement to product and client scenarios

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience in Transaction Banking, Payments or Cash Management within financial services
  • Knowledge of payments and clearing systems such as SEPA or Euro clearing
  • Understanding of Financial Institution and correspondent banking payment models
  • Exposure to FinTech clients or API-based/platform-led solutions
  • Experience supporting product delivery, including requirements definition and working alongside technology teams
  • Awareness of regulatory developments within payments and related control frameworks

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, including client focus, business acumen, stakeholder engagement, risk and controls, communication and technical expertise.

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

This role is based in Frankfurt.
