The Break Management team is a part of the Corporate and Investment Bank's Digital & Platform Services (D&PS) that provides governance on reconciliation and control support to JPMorgan Payment operations team across the globe, thereby strengthening the process.
As a Payment Lifecycle Analyst within Break management team, you will gain understanding of payment products and independently review the breaks and close the same if evidences provided are appropriate. You will perform various control functions to ensure high risk break (outstanding Nostro / Non Nostro breaks) are reviewed and escalated in a timely manner to senior managements
Job responsibilities
- Review the evidences provided by operations on the breaks investigated by the operations team and close the breaks
- Perform various control functions to ensure high risk break (outstanding Nostro / Non Nostro breaks) are reviewed and escalated in a timely manner to senior managements
- Build and Review key metrics to measure controls, outstanding breaks across payments operation and build efficiencies.
- Perform various tasks to reconcile balances in the account and clear breaks in some cases
- Work closely with technology, reconciliation team, operations and client service teams to reduce outstanding reconciliation breaks
- Generate efficiencies by reviewing existing processes, improving STP & decrease payments breaks across the operations team
- Manage accuracy in processing in line with SOPs with no errors.
- Identify and escalate all error/exceptions on identification.
- Respond to and resolve inquiries in a timely manner.
- Comply with the firm's policies, SOPs and check points.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- at least 5 years in a Reconciliation or payment operations and strong understanding of swifts
- Strong knowledge on payments and thorough understanding of the end to end transaction life cycle
- Strong communications skills both verbal and written
- Build strong working relationships across global cross functional teams, including Front Office and ability to manage internal clients & stake holders
- Can operate effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines
- Analytical mindset and high attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task effectively to meet tight deadlines
- Problem solving skills and ensure quick resolution by coordinating with relevant groups
- Flexibility to work global hours
- Self-motivated and proactive with the proven ability to work accurately.
- Good Excel and PowerPoint skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Good to have tableau, Alteryx and knowledge on other automation tools
