Howard is seeking an experienced Paymaster with a strong background in Hospitality payroll operations to support our
growing portfolio of clients. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for
multiple hospitality groups with weekly payroll cycles. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of tip reporting, service
charges, union and non-union environments, and high-volume workforce payroll.
Key Responsibilities
● Process weekly payroll for multiple hospitality clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and
local regulations
● Review and validate timekeeping data, including hours worked, overtime, tipped wages, service charges, and shift differentials
● Ensure proper classification of employees, job codes, pay rates, and payroll schedules
● Reconcile payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly
● Maintain payroll records and support clients during audits or compliance reviews
● Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure correct employee onboarding, terminations, and payroll changes
● Provide payroll reporting and analysis to management as needed
● Assist with process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction
● Deliver high-quality customer service to clients, addressing payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
● Provide consistent work weeks for client deadlines with longer work commitments Monday thru Wednesday weekly
Qualifications
● 5+ years of experience as a Paymaster or Payroll Specialist, specifically within the hospitality industry (restaurants, hotels,
resorts, F&B groups)
● Strong understanding of hospitality payroll requirements, including: Tipped employees, Service charges and allocated tips,
High-volume hourly payroll, Weekly payroll cycles
● Experience using payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paylocity or similar platforms
● Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state wage laws, including FLSA and tip compliance
● Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
● Ability to work under tight weekly deadlines, especially Mondays and Tuesdays
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
● English proficiency
● Ability to lead a team and manage various schedules
